The Sam Parker Murder Trial continues today in Walker County Superior Court. On Friday both the defense and prosecution had rested in the case. Today will bring on closing arguments from both sides in the trial. The defendant, a former City of LaFayette Police officer, did not take the witness stand in his own defense. On the last day of court proceedings, Sam Parker’s first wife took the stand to tell the jury that Parker had never been abusive while they were married. That story was in contrast to testimony from Parker’s second wife who had testified earlier in the week. Parker’s third wife, Theresa a former Walker County 911 operator has been missing since 2007. The case is being heard by Lookout Mountain Superior Court Judge Jon “Bo” Wood.
