The US Postal Service, most banks and federal offices will be closed today for observance of the 4th of July which fell on a Sunday this year.  Some state offices were closed on Friday of last week others will be closed today.

Chattooga County governmental offices along with the municipalities within the county will be closed today for the Independence Day Observence.  Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters told AM 1180 that the county transfer station and remote dump sites will be open today.

The Town of Lyerly will also be closed on Tuesday for training and will re-open on Wednesday morning according to Lyerly Town Clerk, Joy Hampton.
