AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio spoke with Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters about the new Ag Building that is supposed to be built near the middle school.  Commissioner Winters said that he takes the blame for the delay in the construction of the building.

Part of the problem, according to the Commissioner is that bids to construct the building came in higher than expected.  Winters said that he is working with some of the contractors that submitted bids to see if they can lower the bids for the construction of the building.

$50,000 was budgeted by former Commissioner Mike Dawson before Winters took office for the Ag Building, and the Chattooga County Board of Education agreed to the building site near the middle school.  Winters said that he has been committed to using as many local workers as possible on the project.  Smith Iron Works in Lyerly did the pre-fabrication on the building which was delivered to the site last month.

AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio will have the complete interview with Commissioner Winters in a Newsmakers Interview that can be heard on Thursday morning at 8:15 AM and again after the trading post at 12:45 PM on Thursday.
