Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters held his regular monthly meeting last night at the Chattooga County Courthouse Annex.  Winters said that a recent bid to provide thermoplastic striping on county roads only received one bid.  Because there was only one bid, the commissioner said that the project would be re-bid.

Commissioner Winters also said that he had recently signed a lease with Larry Howard for the use of the parking lot located behind the Commissioner’s office on Commerce Street in Summerville.

Commissioner Winters also mentioned the three millage rate hearings recently held the required 3 public hearings on the proposed millage rate increase and adopted a millage rate of 10.981 mills in the unincorporated areas of the county and 13.524 in the incorporated areas.  Winters said that this was a reduction to the propsed millage rates of 11.114 in the unincorporated areas and 13.657 in the incorporated areas.
