Chattooga County Radio AM1180 spoke with Chattooga County Commissioner Mike Dawson last Friday about the progress of the current Cloudland Water Project on Stateline Road.  The commissioner stated that work was progressing.

He said that the contractor was putting in place a drill that would cut through the rock so the work should move ahead faster.  Chattooga Radio News also spoke with the foreman of the job at Cloudland who stated that they had not anticipated the amount of rock present on Lookout Mountain, and that the project was costing the company more than they originally anticipated.

The foreman stated that rising fuel costs, along with having to haul in fill dirt to put on the water lines were adding to the expense of the project.

When completed, the $1.3 million project will serve around 62 people on Stateline Road.
