Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters is still looking at the budget numbers for Chattooga County and the amount of tax revenue that the county will see before he makes a decision regarding the millage rate in Chattooga County. Chattooga County is facing about a $2 million decline in revenues for the upcoming year.
Winters told AM 1180 on Thursday that he is still reviewing the numbers from the tax digest – the document that tells exaclty how much property is worth in Chattooga County. In neighboring Walker County and also in Catoosa County commissioners have already announced millage rate increases.
Winters said that he will be making a decision next week regarding the millage rate in the county. Winters will be in the AM 1180 Studios next Tuesday morning after the 8 AM news to talk about the millage rate.
