Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters will announce his decision about which direction to go with the Chattooga County EMS service on Monday of next week. The Commissioner told AM 1180 on Thursday afternoon that he would be meeting with Chattooga County EMS workers before the announcement.
Winters has said that he is leaning towards privatizing the service. What remains to be seen is which service the commissioner will choose. Both Floyd and Redmond Regional Medical Center have bid on the service. The two hospitals plan to station more ambulances in Chattooga County at various locations.
AM 1180 will report on Monday when the commissioner makes the announcement.
