Commissioner Jason Winters spent several hours yesterday afternoon on the phone and in person talking with the Georgia EPD about postponing the burn ban for the county due to the recent storm.  Winters said that he has been trying to convince state regulators that the county needs the extension because of the amount of debris that will need to be burned after the tornado that struck rural northwestern Chattooga County on Sunday.  Winters said that he remained confident that the county would see the postponment of the burn ban and also said that State Representative Barbara Reece has voiced her support for the idea.
