The Tax Digest for Chattooga County has been released, and there is not a lot of good news according to the numbers.  Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters will be in the AM 1180 Studios this morning after 8 AM to talk with us about the tax digest numbers and what it means for Chattooga County property owners.  Across the state local governments are dealing with land and property values that have decreased in value over the past year.  The lower property values mean that local governments won’t collect as much tax money under current millage rates.  Chattooga County Public Schools are dealing with the same problem combined with less money coming from the State of Georgia.
