Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters is planning to present a comprehensive water plan for the areas of Chattooga County that are not currently provided with water by the Chattooga County Water District.  Winters told AM 1180 on Thursday in Newsmakers Interview program that he plans to present the Chattooga County Water District with a plan that would outline the future of water projects in the county at the board’s May meeting.

Expansion of water service began during the administration of former Commissioner Mike Dawson.  Winters defeated Dawson in the Democratic Primary in 2008 and subsequently appointed Dawson to the water board after winning the general election.  Winters said that he wants to see all areas of Chattooga County served with the basic public utility.
