Chattooga County School Superintendent Jimmy Lenderman said that the groundbreaking on the expansion of Leroy Massey Elementary School would take place next month.  The school is expanding because of the consolidation of Summerville Elementary School.  Lenderman told AM 1180 that the new school expansion will cost the county school system $2.2 million – that is a savings of around $500,000 from the original estimate of $2.7 million.  Lenderman said that by working with the architects and contractors a plan has been developed to save money on the building.  Lenderman also said that plans are in the works for the construction of the new Chattooga High School Building.  Superintendent Lenderman will be a guest on AM1180’s Newsmaker Interview Program coming up next week.  Stay tuned for broadcast times.
