Authorities have been searching for a black male wearing a sweat shirt and doo-rag who robbed the Coosa Valley Federal Credit Union on Dean Street in Rome early Friday morning. Reports said that there is a single suspect and that he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.  Investigators said that police found the clothes left behind, along with a handheld scanner near a drainage pipe on the Ledbetter interchange behind East Central Elementary.

Evidence is currently being processed in a drying tank and results will take a couple of days for the evidence to dry out and allow police to try and get DNA or other forensic evidence left behind.

The video system inside the bank was not working at the time of the robbery.
