A retraining workshop for individuals who are unemployed or considering a new career will be held later this month at Coosa Valley Tech.

U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Marietta) is hosting two workshops. The first will be noon until 3 p.m. June 30 at Coosa Valley Technical College in Rome. The second will be noon until 3 p.m. July 2 at North Metro Tech in Acworth.

The first hour of the workshop will be a presentation that promises information on going back to school, finding leads on jobs and financial resources available for retraining.

The last two hours will allow participants to meet with representatives from Georgia Student Finance Commission, Georgia Department of Labor, Governor Perdue’s Be Workready Program, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Coosa Valley Tech, West Georgia College, West Central Tech, Kennesaw State, Georgia Highlands, Berry College, Shorter College, North Metro Tech, Georgia State University, Devry University, Chattahoochee Tech, Atlanta Art Institute, Coosa Valley Regional Development Workforce Investment and others.
