The Employee Clasification Plan continues to be a major topic at the Summerville Council meetings. During the last meeting, City Manager Russell Thompson told the council that after hearing from department heads at the November meeting he has made some changes to the plan.

The city manager said some department heads were happy with the changes, other were not. He said those changes will cost an additional $15,000 dollars making the total implementation of the plan a $125,000 expenditure.

Councilman Buddy Windle told Thompson the cost keeps going up and up and the city manager needs to work out something where the additional cost is not funded by city taxpayers.

Expect more on the topic in the January City of Summerville Council meeting.
