Candidates for Sheriff and Chattooga County Commissioner are gearing up for the August 5th Primary run-off election that is now only 19 days away.
Election Superentindent Jon Payne is saying that almost 40% of the registered voters in Chattooga County showed up to the polls this past Tuesday. The voter average in Chattooga County was much higher than it was in neighboring counties. In Floyd County there was just barely 10% of the registered voters that showed up at the polls while in Walker County the number was only slightly higher with 15% of the registered voters bothering to come to the polls.
The Run off election is scheduled for Tuesday August 5th.
