Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters recenlty signed an agreement with the State of Georgia that allows county mowing crews to mow the right of ways on state roadways in Chattooga County.

Without the agreement there would be fewer mowings of state owned right of ways in the county.  With the state wide budge crunch the Georgia Department of Transportation has scaled back the mowing of right of ways across the state.  This agreement will let the county keep road ways that run through the county mowed.

Winters said that the agreement allowed the county to mow Highway 48 in Menlo for the Balloon Festival earlier this month.
