The Rome Post of the Georgia State Patrol released the information on wrecks with injuries over the past week on Tuesday. An accident that happened last Wendsday was caused by a deer running into the roadway.
According to the report, Ann Fowler of a Roberts Street address in Summerville was travelling east on Georgia Highway 48 in the area of Bell Street in Menlo when a deer ran from the south bound shoulder of the highway into her lane of travel.
Fowler crossed the westbound lane and left the roadway traveling into the ditch and overturned her 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity. She was transported to Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome by Chattooga County EMS.
Another accident occured on West Tate Road in the Dry Valley area. According to the report Lillie Loretta Dover of a Stoleman Road address in Trion veered off the roadway and over corrected and crossed the roadway and came to a stop in the opposite ditch with the car at an angle. There was little damage to the vehicle according to the report.
