A federal judge has sentenced a DeKalb Co., Alabama man to five years in prison, on the charges of Possession of Child Pornography. 68 year old Lionel Gilbert of Geraldine was also ordered to pay $25,000 and register as a sex offender; he will also serve 10 years supervised probation. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Birmingham, Gilbert downloaded adult and child pornography between March 3rd, 2003 and February 20th, 2008. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in September of last year.
