Tuesday evening Democratic candidate for governor Dubose Porter was in Chattooga County campaigning. He was met by Chattooga County Commissioner Jason WInters and State Representative Barbara Massey Reece. Porter toured the prison in Pennville and spent time talking with area residents.
Born in Dublin, Georgia, Porter graduated from Dublin High School and received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College. He interned with Senator Sam Nunn in Washington, D.C. At the age of 28, he was elected to the Georgia State House of Representatives and went on to serve as Floor Leader for Governor Zell Miller. DuBose Porter and his family are active members of the First United Methodist Church in Dublin, where DuBose served on the Administrative Board and Carol teaches Sunday School.
He is seeking the Democratic nomination for Governor of Georgia.
