Members of the Floyd County Mounted Sheriff’s Possee found the body of Mrs. Dixie Brown on Tuesday on a ridge behind the Dry Creek Road home she shared with her husband.  Chattooga County EMA Director Eddie Henderson said that the body was found around 10:42 yesterday morning.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Posse was just one of a long list of agencies and volunteers that were looking for the woman who suffered from Alzheimers.  The woman’s small dog was with the body when it was discovered by members of the possee who were riding mules on the ridge.  The dog was returned to the family.

Mrs. Brown’s body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
