Floyd County law enforcement officials are sifting through information to get to the bottom of a shooting that occurred late yesterday in the Silver Creek area of Floyd County that left a man dead.

According to Floyd County Police, 45 Year old Everett Barber was at his home in Silver Creek with another man’s wife.  The woman’s husband, 44 year old Barry Lee Smith of Aragon showed up at Barber’s residence and forced his way into the house.  After a struggle ensued, Barber fatally shot Smith in the chest.

Floyd County Police took Barber in for questioning and he was later released.  At this time no charges have been charged against Barber.
