Thanksgiving was the National Red Kettle Kickoff Day for The Salvation Army and a very busy day for the local Salvation Army. After serving 681 meals from their McCallie Avenue location, mostly served to the homebound, and joining in Unity in the Community at the First Tennessee Pavilion serving 1,780 meals, the Salvation Army was blessed by a very generous donor. On Thanksgiving Day, an anonymous donor dropped 43 $100 bills into the red kettle located outside Wal-Mart on Battlefield Parkway.
