Area residents were treated once again this year to the sights and sound of life on the farm the way it used to be as folks gathered at Dick Dowdy Park in Summerville for the annual Down Home Farm Day on Saturday.

Spectators were treated to a variety of old time activities including wood carving, black smithing, basket weaving and other activities from days gone by on the farm.  Students active in 4H had a jersey calf, sheep and pigs and craftsman showed onlookers examples of old time crafts.  The Chattooga County Farm Bureau featured a display with activities for children and the Boy Scouts were doing some Dutch Oven Cooking.  Folks could sample some fresh buttermilk and there were plants for sale at the event.

Down Home Farm Days has become an annual event in Chattooga County that area residents look forward too.
