Chattooga County Commissioner Elect Jason Winters told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that he plans to relocate the dumpsters that are used by Lyerly area residents due to the closing of the Lyerly Dam Bridge.
Winters said that he expects to have the dumpsters moved to the Lyerly side of the Lyerly Dam Bridge so that residents in the area will have better access to the dumpsters. Winters also said that he will try to locate some dumpsters in the Chattoogaville or Holland area as well to assist residents with trash disposal while the bridge is closed.
It is not clear at this time how long the bridge will remain closed. The State of Georgia Department of Transportation closed the bridge last Friday due to structural problems that makes it unsafe for vehicle traffic.
