The Floyd County Police Department is reporting that a one-vehicle accident on Everett Springs Road in Armuchee claimed two lives early this morning. According to police, a Jeep Wrangler, which had four occupants, left the roadway at around 1:30am and struck a tree. The impact sparked a fire. Two people were trapped inside the vehicle and died.  Corporal Greg Beck with the Floyd County Police Department says one male subject was able to escape and one female was thrown from the vehicle. She was lifeflighted to Grady Hospital in Atlanta. The man was taken to Floyd Medical Center for treatment.  No names have been released as the investigation continues.
