AM 1180 participated with every other FCC licensed station in the United States in a simultaneous testing of the EAS system at 2 PM on Wednesday afternoon.  While there were no problems with our test some radio stations across the nation did report problems.

Inside Radio, an online news magazine for the radio industry, reported late Wednesday evening:

From poor sound quality of the message to not receiving an alert at all, many stations say the first-ever national test of the Emergency Alert System revealed plenty of problems. Several stations say they heard tones and overlaid audio. Others weren’t able to go back to regular programming after the test was over.
