Primary elections in Chattooga County will be held this coming Tuesday. There are several contested races on the Democratic Ballot including County Commissioner, Tax Commissioner and Sheriff.
There are Republican Candidates for Commissioner and Tax Commissioner are unapposed on the GOP Ballot. Also, State Representative Barbara Reece and her Republican opponent Betty Brady have no opposition on their respective ballots. Republican State Senator Jeff Mullis and his Democratic challenger Bruce Coker are also unapposed in the primary elections.
Voters in Coldwater and Cloudland Precincts will have new polling places. Earlier this week Judge Jon Payne, election superentindent for Chattooga County, told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio News that new signs had been ordered that would help direct voters to their proper polling locations. Voters in Coldwater Precinct, which is in the Holland area, will be voting at Pond Springs AME Zion Church while voters in the Cloudland area will be voting at the Cloudland Presbyterian Church.
Polling places will be open until 7 PM on Tuesday.
