Organizers of Saturday’s Emergency Preparedness Exercise say the event was a success.  182 volunteers participated in the event which was scheduled in conjunction with the Georgia Emergency Management Administration to prepare emergency response volunteers in the event there should be a major epidimic such as the pandemic flu.

Lamar Canada with Chattooga County Public Works told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that county employees along with the volunteers, the Chattooga County EMA and the Chattooga County Health Department all participated in the event.  1,010 Free flu shots were given out at Saturday’s event.  County officials were pleased with how well the exercise went.
