The English as a Second Language Program is now being held at The First Baptist Church of Trion. The program has been moved due to  the recent flooding and will The program began Monday, October 19. Georgia Northwestern Technical College sponsors the classes, which, until recently, had been meeting in the Trion Recreation Center. Other Trion adult education classes moved to the Summerville Adult Learning Center when the Trion Center flooded.

The ESL classes are for any adults who need to learn or improve their English language skills, and they are free and open to the public. Shirley Walker is the instructor. For information, contact Jim Fowler at 706-764-3564.

GNTC is making every effort to replace materials and equipment for adult learning. Increasing the number and percentage of the adult population with a high school level of education, a Georgia WorkReady Certification, and college training in the northwest Georgia area are major goals of the Georgia Northwestern Technical College.
