Yesterday the Walker County Fire Station Number One was dedicated and re-named in memory of late Deputy Chief Scotty McClure. Chattooga County residents remember Mr. McClure from his days at the old Penn Auto business in Pennville.
Mr. McClure began his fire fighting career in Walker County in 1976 and retired in 2007 after working 31 years for the Walker County Fire system.
The dedication was held yesterday afternoon at the main Walker County fire station located next to Georgia Northwestern Technical College in Rock Spring. The fire hall is now known as "Scotty Mac Station One."
