The Confederate Flag not flying at the Historic Depot in Ringgold has wound up in a lawsuit. The Southern Legal Resource Center filed a lawsuit at the Catoosa County Courthouse on Friday. The SLRC is affilliated with the Sons of Confederate Veterans. The group claims that the Ringgold City Council’s decision to take down the battle flag from the depot is in violation of the Georgia law that says you can’t disrupt a memorial site, like the Ringgold Depot. The area where the battle flag once flew is considered by the group bringing the lawsuit to be a memorial to fallen Confederate soldiers. The Confederate battle flag has not flown at the Catoosa County Depot in three years.
