A flash flood warning has been issued for parts of Floyd County, western Chattooga, Catoosa , Dade, Walker and parts of Whitfield County until 6:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters said the situation in Trion appeared to be OK today.
Winters said he had visited the Chattooga River near Mount Vernon Mills around 2 p.m. and flooding did not appear to be a problem.
At 2:30 he said it looked like the heaviest rain was moving out of the area.
Tonight more showers and thunderstorms likely before 2 a.m., then a slight chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall.
