According to Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters, flood damage estimates in Chattooga County could run as high as $10 Million.
The largest area of damage was in Trion where the Town of Trion experienced damage at the Trion Town Hall, the Trion Recreation Department and the Trion City School Board. The Town of Trion has set up temporary offices at the Trion United Methodist Church while repairs are being made at Town Hall. The largest private property damage was also in Trion in the Park Avenue and Frogtown areas where many homes were damaged from the flood.
Commissioner Winters said that the county experienced around $150,000 in damage to roads and bridges throughout the county.
