Emergency officials in Walker County have been working to clean up the results of the Flood of 2009.  An emergency shelter was set up at the Rock Spring Civic Center and at the Rossville Church of Christ.  Truckloads of water and cleaning supplies are expected to arrive in Walker County today for flood victims.

Around 2,500 customers of the North Georgia Electric Membership Co-Op in Walker County were without power due to power poles washing out on Highway 136 west of LaFayette.  Several downtown businesses in LaFayette also received flood damage.

Walker County students return to school today on a one hour delay.
