While the Town of Trion has escaped a flood like we saw in September, that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t damage from the heavy rains that flooded Chattooga County on Tuesday night.

Trion Police Chief Chad Spraggins told AM 1180 on Wednesday afternoon that around 8 homes were flooded in Trion.  According to the chief out of the 8 homes only 3 saw flooding on the main floor of the home while the remaining 5 houses had flooding in basement areas.

Water got up into the parking lot and flooded two police cars that were parked at Trion Town Hall overnight.  The flooded parking lot prompted Mayor Benny Perry to have a two hour delay in opening city offices this morning. However, the Town Hall and Police Department were not flooded inside.

Chief Spraggins said that in addition to the two patrol cars that were flooded, several private vehicles were flooded as well in the Trion area.
