A collision between a car and a lawn tractor in Rome Thursday afternoon sent two people to the hospital.
According to Officer Simmons with the Rome Police Department:
Herman Lawrence, 68, was driving a lawn tractor and turning around in the road when he was struck by a red Honda Accord, driven by Phyllis Dimou, 41, also of Hycliff Road.
Officer Simmons said Dimou did not see Lawrence as she was coming over a hill. The two vehicles hit head-on.
Lawrence was taken to Floyd Medical Center with what appeared to be serious leg injuries, along with Dimou, where both remain in the emergency room.
