A Rome man remained jailed Saturday morning on misdemeanor charges after he got involved in an altercation with police, reports stated.

According to reports from the Floyd County Jail:

Tony Castro, 30, of 515 Ashland Park Blvd., was arrested at his residence Friday around 10:30 p.m. after he allegedly made physical contact with an officer of a provoking nature, then tried to resist arrest.

He was taken to the Floyd County Jail on misdemeanor charges of obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers and simple battery on a police officer.
