Convicted child molester Jimmy David Henderson was sentenced to life in prison Friday in Floyd County Superior Court.
Chief Judge Walter J. Matthews called Henderson’s behavior "repulsive" and "repugnant," and labeled him "an opportunistic predator" before pronouncing the sentence.
Henderson, 49, of Rome was convicted of one count each of sexual battery and aggravated child molestation. The victim was 11 years old and a visitor in his home when the molestation occurred in early 2009.
The battery charge carried a separate five-year sentence. Henderson could be eligible for parole in 30 years, at the age of 79.
