Floyd Medical Center had a $437.8 million economic impact on the local economy in 2007, according to a recently released report from the Georgia Hospital Association, the state`s largest hospital trade association.

In the report, the association said Georgia hospitals contributed more than $36 billion to the state`s economy in 2007, the most recent year for which economic impact totals are available.

The report also found that Floyd provided approximately $19.37 million in uncompensated care while sustaining more than 4,412 full-time jobs throughout Rome and the rest of the state, including 2,211 full and part-time employees at Floyd.
