Joshua David Lowe, 25, a former sergeant at the Polk County Jail was sentenced to almost two years in prison on Thursday for his role in using excessive force against a restrained inmate back in February.
Lowe pleaded guilty in April.
He was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release.
Lowe admitted that he repeatedly hit an inmate in the head and face while he was strapped in a restraint chair.
