Two men considered to be the front – runners for their political party’s nominations will be in Chattooga County on Saturday – both at Pop’s Restaurant.

Chattooga County Republicans will be hosting Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine at their regular monthly breakfast meeting at Pop’s on Saturday morning at 8 AM.  Chattooga County Republican Party Chairman Brad Hayes told AM 1180 that the event is open to the public and there will be a question and answer period after Oxendine speaks.

Saturday evening, Chattooga County Democrats will hold their annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner at Pop’s at 6 PM.  Former Governor Roy Barnes will be the featured speaker.  Tickets for the event are $15 and are available from Chattooga County Democratic Party members.
