A 24-year-old Fort Payne man faces second-degree rape and other charges after he allegedly had sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.
Joel Wayne Davis is charged with three counts of second-degree rape, as well as one count of child pornography and one count of interfering with child custody. Sheriff Jimmy Harris said Davis apparently met the girl through a family acquaintance.
He said Davis was arrested after an investigation by Deputy Mary Waters. Harris said the investigation is ongoing and more charges could be filed.
Davis remains in the DeKalb County Jail, with bond set $90,000.
Second-degree rape is a Class B felony under Alabama law.
