The thunderous roar of motorcycles and people lining Highway 27, some with U.S. flags in hand was the scene as the body of a slain Armuchee native returned to Floyd County on Thursday. Sgt. Jeffery Jrdan died last week in Afghanistan when an IED exploded, killing Jordan and two other soldiers. The body of Sgt. Jordan was escorted from the airport in Armuchee yesterday to Henderson and Sons Funeral Home in Rome by members of the Patriotic Guard, police and EMS workers. Funeral services will be held today in Floyd County at 11 AM at the Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church.

A fund for Taylor Jordan, the young son now left without a father, has been established at Coosa Valley Credit Union. Wallace said anyone wish to donated can do so at either location or visit him at the American Legion on Shorter Avenue
