Funeral services will be held on Thursday for a Chattooga High School student that died in a drowning accident on Saturday. Dewayne Eller was swimming with friends in the Chattooga River on Saturday. When Eller went into the water and did not come back up a call was made to 911. Sheriff Ralph Kellett told AM1180 Chattooga Radio News that no foul play was suspected, the body was sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy. Eller was a member of the Chattooga County Wrestling Team and an avid supporter and volunteer with the Special Olympics. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 1 P.M. at the JD Hill Memorial Chapel of the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.
