Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin alerts consumers to the recall of a light tuna that contains soy not listed as a product ingredient.
Tri-Union Seafood LLC, San Diego, is recalling its five-ounce variety of Genova solid light tuna in olive oil because it contains a soy ingredient not listed on the product label.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soybean run the risk of serious allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The company says the recall is prompted by a production error. The tuna is mislabeled and contains albacore tuna in soybean oil with vegetable broth that contains soy.
Consumers with questions should call 1-877-843-6376. Those with the product may return it to place of purchase for a full refund.
Also Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin alerted consumers yesterday to the recall of organic stone ground whole wheat flour that contains a milk ingredient not listed on the product label.
Arrowhead Mills, Inc., Hereford, Texas, is recalling Arrowhead Mills® Organic Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour (2 lbs.) with the UPC code #74333-47242 and lot code of 06OCT09. The product was distributed nationwide to natural food stores.
The product’s lot code is located on the right side of the upper front panel of the individual bag. No other lot codes or any other Arrowhead Mills products are being recalled.
The flour may contain an unlisted milk ingredient in its content. Those who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk protein run the potential risk of a health problem or illness if they consume this product.
