Drivers in Chattooga County were frustrated yesterday as gas prices jumped at some local gas stations nearly 20 Cents per gallon.  The gas hike was not only felt in Chattooga County, but in the Rome area as well.  In fact, for some reason AAA is reporting a gas hike all over North Georgia. Part of the increase may come from the fact that crude oil saw a spike in prices this week but by the end of the week crude oil had fallen nearly 12% settling at around $44 a barrel. AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio heard from one frustrated motorist yesterday who said that they were reporting a local gas station for price gouging.  However, the problem seems to have been wide spread throughout the area and not specific to one particular gas station or oil company. Analysts say that the decrease in demand for energy will not allow for gas prices to continue to rise and predict prices will once again fall.
