An Alabama woman turned herself in to jail deputies Wednesday after warrants were issued for her arrest on a forgery charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Tammy Lynn Dorsey, 44, of 5195 County Road 41 in Gaylesville, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. and charged with felony forgery in the first degree. Arrest warrants stated that in May 2008, Dorsey took a federal treasury department check from a resident on Robin Hood Road and forged a signature in order to cash it.

The check was in the amount of $1,200.

Dorsey remains in the Floyd County Jail on $3,750 bail.
