Demographers expect that Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, South Carolina, Utah and Washington will all get one additional seat in the House of Representatives as a result of the 2010 census. Texas is projected to be the big winner, adding three seats.

States losing seats include Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Ohio is projected to lose two, leaving it with 16. If Texas gets three seats, its total would rise to 35.
