GEORGIA’S DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HAS SPENT 2.5-MILLION DOLLARS GETTING READY FOR "OLD MAN WINTER".

THEIR PURCHASES INCLUDE MORE SNOW PLOWS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT… PLUS A PLAN TO IMPROVE COORDINATION OF ROAD-CLEARING EFFORTS DURING WINTER STORMS.  THEY ALSO HAVE 11 NEW STORAGE AREAS FOR SALT AND GRAVEL.

THE PLANS FOLLOW LAST YEAR’S WINTER STORM, WHICH LOCKED DOWN ROADS FOR 5 DAYS OR MORE IN SOME PARTS OF NORTH GEORGIA.
