Cleanup of a dam-like buildup of logs and other debris under the bridge on Veterns Memorial Highway near Riverside Parkway in Rome will likely last until the end of the month, local DOT officials said Thursday, Feb. 12. A crane operator began removing the logs, which were deposited by recent flooding.

Lane closures are expected throughout the cleanup, which is scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays until done.
